Caught In The Moment-5

I understand you when you feel this whole thing called “religion” is confusing and tiring.

I know what you mean when you say it’s all just not making sense.

And I definitely get when you want to drop all that prayer and faith stuff aside and just live your life to the fullest while you can.

Why? Because I’ve been through these phases and I still fall into them one way or the other.

So no, you’re not a bad person for feeling such way. You’re human. A being with feelings and emotions.

I know it feels hard. Hearing conflicting sides and ways of prayer all under the same term–Christianity.

Which is which?! Is it this way or that? Is it wrong to do this or not? Is this what actually happened or not?

“Is this religion really worth it?” you ask yourself.

I heard someone say once, that Christianity isn’t a religion, rather a way of life. It’s the way you choose to live your life.

I’ve thought on these words a lot of times and I realize that it’s the moment you see your faith(Christianity) as more than a religion, that it begins to feel less of a burden to you.

If it becomes a habit, a character and a way of living, it’s no longer a series of tiring activities but it’s simply you living your life with God and Him alone.

You see, it’s only frustrating and confusing if you let it.

Why do you keep trying to find logical explanations to certain things in His word when this God you’re reading of is basically a miracle worker?

A miracle is something unusual, something outside the understanding of man’s knowledge. Why then do we try to find human meanings to things that are inhumane.

This God we hear about through His word, it’s only a few things that He is capable of doing that is shown in the Bible. Imagine how much more mind blowing things He can actually do!

These are just the beginning of all that he does, merely a whisper of his power. Who, then, can comprehend the thunder of his power?”
(Job 26:14 NLT)

Your curiosity shouldn’t move you to start feeling frustrated with confusing and conflicting words of your fellow believers. It should drive you to find out more of this God from He Himself.

Then again, there are times when it seems you’re asking him questions but He’s not giving you feedback. You need to stop and listen. He can talk back to you in different ways. He might even be speaking to you now.

There are things He feels you’re not ready to grasp about Him and we can’t argue with Him about that because He knows what’s best for us.

I’ve been there. I was seeking answers to certain things I found confusing in His word. I was tired of asking people higher than me and getting different answers.

So I asked Him. Not once, not twice and not even thrice. Nope, nothing. No answer. No feedback.

Who knows on which count but He finally gave my troubled heart an answer.

His answer might not be what you wish to hear which is why you might not hear when He actually responds. We feel that can’t be Him cause it’s not the answer we want.

But you’re asking Him and you should give Him the chance to answer you. It might hurt and it might not be what you want, but trust me it’ll be what’s best for you.

Calm your heart by building your faith in Him and not in the words of men. Take your time and discover God yourself and not through people.

I put my faith in Jesus, my anchor to the ground. My hope and firm foundation, He’ll never let me down! ✨

Oh, if you’re wondering what His reply was after a series of me asking Him to reveal certain things I couldn’t understand, it’s right below:

Lord , my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I don’t concern myself with matters too great or too awesome for me to grasp. Instead, I have calmed and quieted myself, like a weaned child who no longer cries for its mother’s milk. Yes, like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, put your hope in the Lord — now and always.

Psalms 131:1‭-‬3 NLT

He didn’t answer my question the way I wanted but when I read this, my heart was suddenly calm. I trust Him and I know He’ll reveal certain things to me when the time is right.
