“If you could turn back the hands of time, where would you go back to Alexa?” My best friend, Tracy, asked me.
“Hmm, I actually haven’t thought about that…”
All I think about these days, is when I’m going to die. Yep, that’s what happens when your doctor tells you you’re terminal. One month left to live.
You could say I was happy and also sad about it. Happy that I’m finally going home but sad that I’m leaving my best friend.
“Well go ahead and think. I’m waiting.”
If I could turn back the hands of time, where would I go back to…
“Well, definitely life before cancer. Everything wasn’t so perfect then but it was much better without cancer. Don’t you think?” I said with a sad smile.
“Yeah, it was… so where, where exactly would you go back to?” Tracy asked.
“If I could turn back the hands of time, I’d wanna go back to where I truly came from. This place, this world, isn’t my home. I do love you Tracy but I want to go home, my actual home.” I said with a sad voice.
“What…what do you mean Alexa?” She asked with a troubled look.
“The place I’m going back to when I finally die.”
“You’re talking about this heaven thing again aren’t you? Don’t start with that Alex. Everyone here loves you so much…I mean, do you really…do you really want to die?” Tracy said with sobs in between.
“Trace, don’t cry. Look, if you promise to listen to everything I’ve told you so far about Jesus and true salvation, then I’m not afraid to say goodbye to you, you know why?” I asked her, giving her a hug in hopes of comforting her.
She sniffed before replying, “Why?”
“It’s because our goodbye isn’t gonna be forever.” I told her with all my heart.
“Really? How?” She turned to me and asked.
“It’s called eternal life Trace. And it’s not here, not in this world. That’s why I have to leave, that’s why I want to leave.”
“I want that then, the eternal life thingy.” She said.
“Then…” I’m immediately cut off by a sudden loss of breath.
I feel a sharp pain in my chest as I start struggling to breath, gripping the sheets on my bed.
“Alexa? Alexa are you okay? Help! Help! Someone help!” Tracy cried out with tears.
It’s finally over, I’m going home. My body starts shaking like I’m freezing or something and my sight looks like it’s fading away.
I quickly grab Tracy’s hand before it’s too late.
“Pro..promise me…promise me you’ll listen to everything I’ve told…you Trace.”
She doesn’t say a word but looks at me with tears streaming down her face.
“Promise me…Tracy.”
“I…promise Alex.” She finally said.
“Goodbye Tracy.” I said to her, forming the largest smile I could at that point.
“Goodbye…goodbye Alexa.” She said with a small smile underneath all her tears, truly believing that this isn’t forever.
Hey there! Thank you for reading this and don’t forget to leave your comments on it.
Well it was kinda sad that no one really left any suggestions on the Hey You! post, but it’s all good since that was just the first edition. Better luck next month I guess. 😌❤️
Since there weren’t any suggestions I just decided to write something random instead and I hope you enjoyed reading it.
That’s it for today, I’ll see you next week!✨
😍😍😍
I actually got a fright at the sharp pain part😅😅.
If it’s not too late can I make a suggestion?
