It’s so funny how we think of new things we want to achieve but end up stopping halfway or not even taking any action at all. Recently, I’ve set out some new things I want to start acting on and trust me it hasn’t been easy😂. I either forget to do one and don’t feel like doing the other. Can you look back and count how many things you’ve wanted to do but stopped halfway or didn’t even start? I’ve thought of two things already, you?
Having a schedule or following a to-do list isn’t as easy as some people make it sound and I’m totally with you on that. But still, we can’t, we can’t back down, Not right now, we can’t back down! ( 😂Did anyone get that part, any Disney fans?)
Okay, so let me share some of my new set out goals and schedules with you:
– New Blog posts twice a week, probably Tuesdays and Fridays(Yay!)
-Studying a course each day.
–Managing my Instagram account better.
Let’s leave it at these three. You see, starting a new thing isn’t easy. The beginning is the hardest part that needs much effort. If you give up or slack just at the start, you’re not reaching the end dear. We need to start from a to-do list, to schedules and then we can can achieve bigger goals. If you can’t follow a to-do list(it doesn’t have to be written), it’s going to be harder to achieve something big trust me. It has to be from little, TO BIG. (If you haven’t read my blog post on that click here➡️from little, TO BIG!)
I have two tips to share with you for now and I hope they’ll be of good use:
1. Self Discipline: You need to actually put in effort and discipline yourself if you want to do anything at all. This means no excuses! Sometimes we’re like “there was no time to do it today,” but we know there’s time. We have 24hours in a day, if we really want to do that thing we’ll do it. Today I woke up and realised I didn’t do something in my mental to-do list for the day. I had slept off, but I told myself the truth; I procrastinated. Little things like this is what can stop us from achieving our goals. To summarise this point, let me share with you a definition on discipline, a new friend I made gave me; “Doing the right thing even when you or your body doesn’t feel like it.” If you actually practice this tip and remain consistent no matter what, you’ll definitely see some progress!❤️
2. Support: Have someone to encourage you on your goals. Sometimes we might feel like giving up, but having people that encourage and motivate you can actually keep you going. Some things I’ve achieved, like starting this blog, was actually aided by my friends’ support and most of all, God. If you’re surrounded by people who think less of you and discourage you all the time, that won’t help at all. (But sometimes you really have to ignore them and continue being you.) The only one that can actually help you and support more than anyone else is God❤️. If you have Him, you’ve got all the support you need.
So start that new thing you’ve always wanted to do, I’m here to support you and you have God to help you as well, accept His help today. Don’t give up when it gets hard just remember, “The end of a thing is better than its beginning”(Ecclesiastes 7:8a)😊
