Someone’s Type

“Don’t change so people will like you, be yourself and the right people will love the real you.”

Do you know who you are? Or have you defined yourself as someone’s type? Is your whole life based on someone else’s likes? You like someone, no problem, but then do you start to live your life based on everything the person likes? No!

Some people take actions based on someone else’s preferences. You look at yourself and be like I’m not their type, they won’t want anything to do with me, why don’t I act like them and do what they’re doing so they’ll like me. I’m here to tell you that if you keep changing yourself everytime you meet someone just so they’ll like you, then you won’t even know who you are at the end of your pretence.

You might not even know when you start doing this but one way or other you finally realise you’re not yourself again. I’m not here to judge you if you’ve been doing this really. Because I’ve also done this too and I’ll share my experience with you.

I once had a crush on a guy, yeah. I forgot myself and stepped out of box, trying to design myself to fit his liking. I did things the normal me wouldn’t do, all in the name of making him like me. Yes he liked me, but then it dawned on me that I was doing things that the real me hates just for someone’s liking. I had become “his type”. I faced reality and knew I couldn’t be just “someone’s type” and yes he distanced himself from me, seeing I wasn’t his type anymore.

Know your worth, the person you’re trying to please is a human just like you. Don’t be a people pleaser but be who you are. Someone will like you for you, trust me. You might just be living your life, not knowing someone out there is admiring you just for being YOU!

Ask yourself today, Am I living my life just to be Someone’s Type?
